Epitaph for a Tramp by outapckt on Flickr.

The first of David Markson’s “Harry Fannin” detective novels. Dell, 1959. Cover by Robert McGinnis. These are really great little mysteries taking place in the late ’50s and early ’60s Greenwich Village scene. A tough detective dealing with beatniks, artists, and murder. In this one, it’s his own ex-wife who winds up dead on his doorstep. This was actually Markson’s first book.
